Where are these masks made?

We manufacture our masks in the United States 100%, from start to finish, in an FDA-registered facility in Garden Grove, California.

Are they made with polypropylene (PP)?

Yes. Our 3Ply disposable masks include a filter media inner layer made with electrostatically charged meltblown polypropylene. This 100% non-woven fiber is the preferred material for filter media in disposable masks because it provides no less than 95% filtration of airborne particles. The meltblown process forms a nonwoven fabric “net” which has minute openings that are far tinier than the ones in traditional textiles. Polypropylene also has lipophilic properties, meaning it attract fats. Since greasy surfaces are common among viruses, they attach more readily to lipophilic materials. That helps catch tiny virus particles that are smaller than the holes in the PP net. Moreover, the electrostatic charge improves the mask filter’s functionality by also attracting nanometer-sized particles and binding them to the filter fibers. Think static electricity and how it makes things cling together. This helps trap them in the middle layer of your 3Ply mask, so you don’t send them into the air when you talk, cough, or sneeze. It may also help prevent some tiny particles in the surrounding air from reaching your mouth or nose when you inhale.

We make our masks in the U.S. in the state of California.

How long have you been manufacturing masks?

We have a long history of producing quality supplies. When the Coronavirus pandemic dealt a devastating blow to domestic PPE supplies, we realized that our 30 years of experience in domestic goods and medical supplies manufacturing would help us address the shortage, So, at the start of 2020, we set up the necessary space and machinery in our California facility to manufacture and deliver more than 40,000,000 3Ply disposable masks each month.

Are these masks water-resistant?

Yes. Even better, our masks are water-repellent. The outer layer of each mask is hydrophobic, repelling liquids but maintaining breathability. These 3Ply face masks are manufactured to meet ASTM Level 1 requirements, which provides resistance to penetration of fluid or blood splashes at velocities up to 80mmHg.

Is there an adjustable nose clip inside these masks?

Yes. Our face masks include an adjustable nose bridge strip. Simply pinch the bendable metal bridge to mold it to your nose for a snug, comfortable fit.

What are the nose clips made of?

The nose bridge is made of light, bendable metal for ease of use.

What are the mask dimensions?

Flat and unpleated, these masks measure 7.875 inches by 3.875 inches. They are standard adult, one-size-fits-most.

How are they packaged? Loose, sealed, individually wrapped?

Every box contains 50 masks. We apply eco-friendly packaging methods, dispensing with wasteful and excessive plastic wrapping. At our FDA-registered U.S. facility, our conscientious American workers apply proven safety procedures, testing, and production techniques to ensure sanitary conditions and sterile products.

Do these masks pass the “blow out the flame” (lighter, candle, match) test?

Please perform the lighter, candle or match flame test with our face masks if you desire, for peace of mind. But rest assured, our testing and manufacturing practices ensure the highest level of droplet containment possible for personal-use disposable face masks. In fact, we designed our 3Ply masks to meet medical-grade standards with 95% Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE), Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE), Viral Filtration Efficiency (VFE), and Differential Pressure per ASTM guidance.

What materials are your masks made of?

We use CDC NIOSH-approved high-grade materials that meet ASTM standards for masks and are comfortable, breathable, safe, and effective. Our filter media is electrostatically charged meltblown PP, which is the preferred material for mask filters and often used in medical grade disposable face masks. Note that these are not cloth masks.

Do these masks have a chemical odor?

No. Our masks are odorless and hypoallergenic.

Are the ear loops paper or elastic?

Our mask ear straps are made of soft, non-latex elastic for a snug, comfortable fit.

Do they fit children?

These masks are designed for adult fit. They are not likely to fit most small children.

How is the breathability with these 3Ply disposable masks?

You enjoy excellent breathability with our high-quality masks. We submit our mask materials to differential pressure testing to measure airflow resistance and breathability. This supports product quality consistency, medical-grade face mask standards, and respiratory comfort for our customers.

What color are the masks?

The outer hydrophobic water-repellent layer is light blue with white trim, and the soft hydrophilic moisture-wicking inner layer and latex-free elastic ear straps are white.

Are these masks medical grade?

We designed our 3Ply disposable face masks to comply with medical-grade standards as established by ASTM and CDC NIOSH. While they are not categorized and regulated as surgical masks, they are designed and manufactured in our FDA-registered U.S. facility to provide comparable quality and protection. That includes up to 95% BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency), PFE (Particle Filtration Efficiency), VFE (Viral Filtration Efficiency), Differential Pressure, and Blood Penetration.

Do they feel like paper or fabric?

These are disposable, non-cloth 3Ply masks. However, the construction and materials we use support both comfort and efficacy. We applied our extensive design and production background of soft goods to create a comfortable, quality product. The interior layer that rests against your skin is non-abrasive, and its soft hydrophilic moisture-wicking properties help keep the area under your mask dry. Additionally, reducing the drying time of droplets you expel from your mouth or nose while talking, coughing, or sneezing with a hydrophilic layer can help lower infection risk.

How many masks are in one box?

Every box contains 50 3Ply disposable face masks.

Does the actual mask look like the one pictured on the box?

Yes. Our masks are as pictured on the packaging.

Should I reuse disposable masks?

It is possible to reuse a disposable mask, but you must observe strict safety protocols. You must not touch the surface of your mask during and after initial use, as you may transfer virus particles. Instead, use the ear straps to place your mask on your face and to remove it. After use, leave it in a clean, contained environment (such as a paper bag or Tupperware container) for 2 or 3 days before reuse. If you cannot take these safety precautions, it’s best to throw away your disposable mask after one day of use. With our 50-piece packs of American-made disposable 3Ply masks, it’s easy, convenient, and economical to use a fresh, uncontaminated 3Ply mask daily.

Are they the same color inside and outside?

No. The exterior layer is light blue, and the interior layer is white.

What is the filter media?

Our filter media is electrostatically charged meltblown PP. This filter material is intended specifically for medical face masks. Combined, the properties of the non-woven fiber, meltblown process, and electrostatic charge provide enhanced sub-micron particle filtration.

Are they latex-free?

Yes. Our non-toxic face masks contain no latex, no dyes, and no fiberglass.

Is there an anti-fog strip on these masks?

No. We do not fit our face masks with specially designed anti-fog seals or foam strips. However, they have adjustable nose bridge strips that allow you to form a snug fit that can prevent air from escaping at the top and fogging your glasses.

Do these masks provide N95 protection?

No. These are not respirators. They do not offer the protection of N95 masks. We make no claims that our 3Ply disposable face masks are respirators or possess respiratory-quality protection.

Are these masks sterilized before you package them?

Our attentive and diligent workforce uses all approved safety standards, testing, and production methods to ensure sanitary conditions and sterile products. Our production facility is in the United States and it’s registered with the FDA, which means we have identified any potential hazards associated with product production and set up safety controls to minimize risk. Note that scientists say that indirect surface contact (fomite transmission) is unlikely to spread the virus. Additionally, when it’s left on surfaces, the virus dissipates naturally within hours to days.

Are the ear loops adjustable?

The ear loops on these disposable face masks are soft, quality non-latex elastic straps for comfort, economy, and ease of use. Though not adjustable, the elasticity supports a good fit and maintains its resilience throughout the day.

Is there fiberglass in the mask materials?

No. Our non-toxic masks are fiberglass-free, latex-free, and dye-free.

What's the expiration timeframe for these masks?

The shelf life of our 3Ply face masks is up to five years. Do store your masks in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight, dust, and contaminants to support lasting efficacy.

Are these masks available in other colors?

Not yet. Currently, our dye-free masks are only available in the blue and white color pattern. We are working to develop 3Ply masks with designs that have the same integrity as our standard line of Ceemly masks.

Are you an American-owned company?

Yes. Ceemly is a Thomas Verified American company. We are a subsidiary of CustomFab USA, a domestic industrial manufacturing company founded in 1990.

How good is the filtration?

Our masks are manufactured with 95% or greater Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) and Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE). A third-party lab performs filtration testing on our 3Ply disposable face masks.

Can I use these masks for painting?

No. Our 3Ply face masks help prevent the spread of non-oil-based airborne particles and protect against fluid splashes. They do not protect you from paint fumes, vapors, or gases. Masks with filters for painting (respirators) typically have an R rating, such as R95—to filter 95% of paint fumes, or R100 for 100% protection.

Does 3Ply mean the mask has 3 layers?

Yes, 3 ply refers to three layers. Triple ply masks also have vertical folds or pleating. A single-ply mask usually has no pleating and only one layer. This is the case with most cloth masks. Double-ply or 2 ply masks feature two layers, but no filter media. They may or may not be pleated. Traditionally, workers at restaurants, nail salons, and spas use 2 ply masks for sanitary and hygienic purposes.

Can I disinfect this mask for repeated use?

Mask disinfection for 3Ply disposable masks with a filter media is not recommended, nor is repeated use of disposable masks. You may be familiar with some common mask disinfection methods, but most techniques have been shown to damage or lessen the effectiveness of the electrostatically charged meltblown filter material we use for filtration/protection. 1) Spraying alcohol on the mask ruins the electrostatic charge and drops the efficacy below 95%. 2) Steaming it with damp heat also reduces filter efficiency. 3) Professional high-pressure/high-temperature disinfection lowers the efficiency rate and warps the mask. 4) UV light doesn’t harm the filter, but the level required for disinfection is unknown. So, you wouldn’t be able to tell whether you’ve completely inactivated any existing virus particles in your mask. Heating your mask in an oven on low heat (30° C/158° F) for 30 minutes is the only disinfection method where the filter may still maintain 95% filtering efficiency. Still, the safest option for reliable protection to limit the spread of the virus is to use a new mask each day when you’re out and about.

Do they protect me against virus particles smaller than 0.3 microns?

No. Only respirators, like N95 PPE masks, can protect the mask wearer from inhalation of bacteria and viruses or other airborne pathogens, and they must be fit-tested properly to do so. Consistent and proper personal face mask use by everyone can help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Triple-layer masks like ours typically offer more particle filtration efficiency than double- or single-layer masks. We designed our face masks to meet or exceed ASTM Level 1 standards. Per FDA guidance, Level 1 masks tested under laboratory conditions filter bacterial particles ≥ 3 microns and sub-micron particulates ≥ 0.1 microns. However, during normal use, performance will differ. These are loose masks with no facial seal. So intermittent air leakage around the edges is likely when you inhale and exhale. Our 3Ply disposable face masks are constructed to help limit the particulate you expel into the air when breathing, talking, coughing, and sneezing. They can also protect you from large droplets and fluid splashes (like spittle).

Are these masks good for all-day wear?

Our 3Ply disposable face masks are comfortable for all-day wear. They’re also great for use when you’re running errands, grocery shopping, and for trips to the store, the gym, and other outings. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, wear a face mask in public settings with people outside your household, at work, and in other places where you cannot socially distance at least 6 feet. Always follow mask safety tips when you take your mask on and off and when you’re using a face mask during more than one outing during a single day: Wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling your mask. Use hand sanitizer if you don’t have access to soap and water. Touch the surface (outer blue layer) of your mask as little as possible. Use the ear loops to take your mask on and off. Don’t put your mask up on your forehead or around your neck. Don’t place your mask on any surfaces between uses. If you will be wearing your mask again after removal, place it in a paper bag or plastic container until you need it again. If you need to adjust your mask during use, wash or sanitize your hands immediately afterward. When disposing of your mask: remove it by the ear loops and bring them together, folding your mask with the blue exterior surface facing outward. Then throw it away. Don’t reuse your disposable mask if you are visiting a high-risk location—like a clinic, doctor’s office, or hospital. Instead, carefully remove and dispose of your mask after you leave the area and wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before you touch anything else.

What's the proper way to wear a disposable face mask?

Proper mask use helps protect everyone. Check your mask for any tears or holes before you wear it. Look for the nose bridge strip for proper placement. Hold it by the straps and loop the mask over each ear with the blue side facing out. Pinch the adjustable nose strip around your nose to form a snug seal. Pull down from the bottom edge to open the pleats and fully cover your nose and mouth and chin. Pull the bottom of the mask under your chin. Keep your mask on while talking to others—don’t pull it down under your nose or mouth.

Are disposable masks better than cloth masks?

Because all cloth masks and all disposable masks are not equal – often, not even comparable—there’s no clear winner. Instead, compare the essential features of the masks you’re considering. Review these elements: Function: How will you be using your masks? Do you need daily protection? Will there be long-term wear or short periods of use? Material: How tight is the weave? Tighter is better. For cloth masks, 100% cotton is optimal. Our masks use tightly woven non-fabric material for excellent filtration. Layers: All things considered; multiple layers provide better protection if they’re not too thin. Fit: Does it cup your face? Are there gaps along the edges? You don’t want that. A snug fit that still supports good airflow is best. Pleats or folds allow for a better fit. Filtration: Single and double-ply masks don’t have filters. So, you’re relying mainly on the fabric weave to limit the amount of virus you might be expelling. A polypropylene filter will boost your mask’s effectiveness. Breathability: How well can you breathe through the mask? If the fabric’s too thick, you may have trouble breathing. If it’s too thin, you’re likely to suck it into your mouth when you inhale. Pleats provide more space for better airflow.

Should I wear a face shield with my mask?

Face shields worn with masks can add an extra layer of protection from droplets and fluid splash. They also provide some protection for your unshielded eyes. But they’re typically unnecessary, and they are not a substitute for a face mask.

What's the difference between these masks and surgical masks?

The FDA regulates surgical masks as class II medical devices under 21 CFR 878.4040. Our 3Ply disposable face mask has a Level 1 medical mask classification from the ATSM.

Does this mask shift around your face a lot like cloth ones?

A 3Ply disposable face mask tends to hold its shape better than cloth. So, our masks don’t shift and collapse around your mouth the way cloth masks often do. Plus, after repeated use and laundering, cloth masks start to sag and lose their shape and elasticity. With a new disposable mask every day, you won’t have that problem.

Should I use an extra filter with these masks?

There is no need to insert an extra filter in our masks. They already have electrostatically charged meltblown PP filter media for excellent filtration.

Are these masks machine washable?

No. Our 3Ply materials are durable and made for comfortable all-day use. But the material is not machine washable. These are disposable face masks.

Why are pleats helpful in a mask?

Pleats stretch open accordion-style to expand the available coverage area of your face mask. This helps accommodate different face sizes. It also provides a more custom fit and creates a better seal than pleatless masks.

Do these masks have exhalation valves?

No. Exhalation valves are front openings that allow you to emit unfiltered air and spittle. This removes the whole point of wearing a mask to protect others in case you’re contagious. But our 3Ply face mask design and materials support optimal breathability.

Do they protect against dust, pollen, and smog?

These 3Ply disposable face masks can block some air pollutants - like dust, pollen, and smoke - for some people. But they’re not designed for this purpose and may not offer much protection at all in most cases. Respirators, such as the N95, are better suited to this task.

Is there a meltblown nonwoven layer in these masks?

Yes. The middle layer is made of electrostatically charged meltblown PP.
